Stone Analytics Announces Ground-Breaking Analytical Software

May 7, 2002
Software now available on an OEM basis.
San Diego — Stone Analytics, Inc. today announced the release of advanced business software that takes decision-making to the next level. Scoring Science v 1.5, the culmination of two years of intense development efforts, makes powerful analytical tools available for integration into OEM software applications. The new release includes Automatic Analyst, proprietary technology that enables business managers, marketers, and other non-statisticians to employ sophisticated analytics in their decision processes.

"Scoring Science makes it possible for our OEM partners to offer business customers something they couldn't before: an easy-to-use software package that helps identify profit opportunities, improve operations, and deploy resources more effectively," said Stone Analytics CEO Christy Joiner-Congleton. "Scoring Science is specifically targeted for business users with limited experience conducting analytics."

The new Automatic Analyst technology automates the actions of a professional analyst. It can quickly scan an entire dataset, identifying the major factors that impact the outcome of a given decision. Automatic Analyst then combines these factors into a unique model that enables end users to make more informed decisions.

"We demonstrated Scoring Science for the research and planning director of one of the nation's largest credit unions," said Steve Lackow, Partner of RPM Consulting, a Northridge-based CRM company. "She was blown away. She could not believe how easy it was to do the analytical work they wanted and needed to do."

Scoring Science is immediately available to more than half a million users worldwide as an extension to ArcViewTM by ESRI, the leading developer of geographic information systems (GIS).

Highlights of the Scoring Science v 1.5 release include:

Campaign Scenario Management
The Campaign Scenario feature increases marketing returns by enabling users to predict the results of future marketing promotions. Users simply input costs and revenues for their products and services, and Scoring Science calculates the expected profits from alternative marketing scenarios. In this way, business managers can easily optimize the total return on their marketing dollars.

Geographic Model Mapping
Available with ArcView, this feature allows for the geographic visualization of scored populations. Users select a desired portion of their database, and Scoring Science automatically displays the location of optimal targets on a detailed map. What once required three separate steps is now reduced to a simple click of the mouse.
